Why the site was down.

e-Sword-users.org was down due to an unpaid web hosting bill.  That the site went down, and the reason for it doing so, caught virtually all of the current and former e-sword-user team members by surprise.

In the past twelve months, virtually all of the site admins have either formally, or informally resigned their position.  For the last three months, e-Sword-users.org has, for all practical purposes, not had a management team.  Whilst I was aware of most of the resignations, I was not aware of all of them.  I did not know that the web hosting contract was for six months.

Web hosting service for this site is paid though 13 April 2011.

A list ( eSU_Foundation) discussing future options for e-Sword-users.org can be found at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/esu_foundation/

I created a poll What should be done with e-Sword-users.org, and the domains it owns? on the eSword@Yahoogroups site, to find out what e-Sword users on that list, think should happen with this site.  This poll ends on 5 April.

I also created a poll "Which of the following should happen to e-Sword-users.org:" which is currently on the front page of this site. It lives at http://e-sword-users.org/users/node/4934.  This poll ends on 5 April.

I do not have the skills to support the technical needs of the site, but you can count on my prayers. Also, when appropriate I would also like to make a modest financial contribution. I have been blessed through this site more than I could ever repay, but even so I know that I should offer a gift. Please advise when that can be done again (I don't see the link anymore).

Re: Why the site was down.

Could we get a clarified list of the administrators and the team that are still among the staff of e-sword-users.org. or at least get the "Meet the e-SU Team" updated?

I am happy that I wrote and called for a change before all this "mess" was manifested, even though I was disappointed at the “shoulder claps” on the leaders of this forum by so many in that topic.
It’s so important to speak the truth at the right time instead of just “maintaining a pretty image”.

I am not a programmer at all and can’t help the forum in that way…

As I wrote in that post, then I now hope that Jonathan will get the full authority in this forum, which he is qualified and deserves to get.

Hope you get the best administrators and team workers you need, but with Jonathon in charge of it all, then it can’t go wrong, just to get him in the right place would already minimize the mess a lot.

I am slowly going through the list of users with a status that is not "normal user":
* User-IDs that I can't attached to a name are being blocked, and demoted;
* User-IDs of individuals who have resigned are being blocked, and demoted;
* User-IDs that show a last login of more than 50 weeks are being blocked, and demoted;

I removed some of the names yesterday.

I will update next week.
