Hello e-Sword Users,
I am interested in replacing my iPaq, which is my primary portable Bible, (running Pocket e-Sword of course!) with a UMPC. I would like to do this to increase the screen size, and since UMPCs run full blown Windows OS, I then could run e-Sword 9, and enjoy all my resources, synchronized, on the go.
My questions of the community are these:
Does anyone have any experience with e-Sword on a UMPC?
Does anyone have any hardware recommendations based on personal experience?
God Bless!
Eric

Depending upon exactly how one defines UMPC, that is what Rick uses for e-Sword.

The two things to  pay the most attention to are:
* The chip that it uses;
* If unmodified Windows programs can run on the UMPC;
Unfortunately,  you can't go by what either the manufacturer, or the sales rep tells you.  :(

As far as RAM goes, if you can boot Windows, you can  run e-Sword. The less RAM,  the slower e-Sword will  run.  (I've run e-Sword on a system with 48 MB RAM and Win2K.  I don't recommend that  to anybody.)

Make sure that your UMPC has at  least 2, and preferably 4 USB ports.

I'd also consider carrying an external portable drive, which has  all of the e-Sword resources on it.   The downside is that this will  slow down e-Sword,  slightly.
