Introduction to Vaughn R. Jacobs

I guess I should start by telling you who I am. My name is Vaughn R. Jacobs, and I am a 41 year old father of 4. My wife, Pat and 3 of the kids live in Gun Barrel City, Texas. It's about 45 miles southeast of Dallas. My oldest daughter, Stephanie, lives in Arkansas, where she assists in helping care for my father and grandmother as they are more than my mother can care for alone.

I was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1967.  My father was transferred to Galesburg, Illinois and we lived there for 18 years, upon my graduation from high school I joined the Army and went to Germany.

I was a combat engineer in the 16th Engineer Battalion of the 1st Armored Division, and spent 2 years in West Germany, before a foot injury allowed me to be discharged. I returned to a new home in south Arkansas, since my father had retired from 36 years of railroading.

I worked a variety of jobs, and dated quite a bit as a young man does. However, I became lonely and decided it was time to get married and did so at a young and inexperienced age. After 7 years in a marriage that was very rocky, came the divorce and then custody of my two children.

After a near fatal industrial accident, I realized how far from God I had gotten, and decided it was time to start going back to church. It was in a singles class at this churh that I meet a very pretty and intelligent lady, and after several conversations and a couple of dates we became engaged and married. With my 2 children and her daughter we had a pretty full house, but the Lord decided we needed another and He gave us, our youngest daughter. I now was a dad to 3 girls and a boy. Talk about no pressure!

After the sudden death of my wife's father, we moved to Texas, where we have been for the last 8 years. I have worked several jobs, and tried to follow where the Lord has lead the last few years. After being in Texas a year, I was introduced to e-Sword by a member of the church we were attending. To say the least, I fell in love with it and have not stopped trying to make it the number one bible software program in the world!

If you have any questions for me, please feel free to ask. I will be as open and direct as possible. I do have a family so it is important to keep some things personal but most of my life is open as I feel that the Lord puts us through things to let us witness to others. Hope to hear from you soon. Please feel free to make comments and suggestions.

Grace and Peace

Vaughn R. Jacobs

Thank you Vaughn

Thanks for sharing a little bit about yourself. I have been enjoying the fruits of your labor for some time but it is good to get to know about the man behind a lot of the work you do. I know God will see you through your recent job loss.

God bless,
