Scroll Icons
Submitted by clay on Sat, 10/30/2010 - 23:41I love e-sword but the documentation is severely lacking.
Question - What are the scroll looking icons to the right of the Bible pane marked 0-9 that only go to John 3:16 and can one make them do something else and if so who is it done?

Deutsche Übersetzung mit Strongs-Nummern?
Submitted by dave_e-Sword on Sat, 10/30/2010 - 21:41Hallo Wolfgang,

Converting Bibles with Strongs numbers?
Submitted by dave_e-Sword on Sat, 10/30/2010 - 21:13Hi,
I have tried to convert two Zefania XML Bibles with Strongs numbers (Luther 1912 and the Schlachter) to a .bblx file for e-Sword 9x. In both cases, a .bblx file was successfully produced, but they had only the text -- not the Strongs numbers. (I tried with both Standard and Best format conversion. I have XP and .NET 2.0 installed.)
Does anyone know a cure for this?
Alternatively, does anyone know an e-Sword compatible German-language Bible w/ Strongs numbers?
Thanks a lot!
David

I found this book, like all of Octavius Winslow's books, to be a blessing. From the book: "Our Lord, as man, lived as much a life of faith on the Father as we. We too much overlook this fact. He could not in all points have been tempted like as we are had this not been so. Oh, I love to trace this life of faith which my Lord and Savior lived! And when I am tempted and tried when the ‘cruse of oil and the barrel of meal’ are well nigh exhausted, oh it is blessed to recall the moment when He who bore my sins in His own body on the tree, was an hungered and thirsted; and as Man, poor, needy, and often dependent upon the bounty of others for the holy women ministered unto Him of their substance He trusted in the providence and promise of His God. It was the taunt of His murderers when writhing in agony upon the cross "He trusted in God: let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him." Little thought they to what a blessed fact in our Lord’s history they were unwittingly testifying the faith of Christ in His Father!"

This memoir of Reverend Bompas was very enlightening to read. If you have ever been in the Mackenzie River or Fort Babine area of Canada, you know how rugged it is - just stop and think of the heart needed 150 years ago to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This book was a real encouragement to me as I read about the Reverend Bompas endeavors.
About William Carpenter Bompas:
William Carpenter Bompas(20 January 1834 – 9 June 1906) was a Church of England clergyman and missionary in northwestern Canada, first Anglican bishop of the Athabasca diocese, then of the Mackenzie River diocese and then of the Selkirk (Yukon) diocese as these dioceses were successively carved out of the original Rupert's Land diocese. Born in London, England, he died in Carcross, Yukon. His wife Charlotte Selina (Cox) Bompas participated in his missionary work, and wrote Owindia: A True Tale of the Mackenzie River Indians, North-West America.

St. Augustine's "City of God"
Submitted by Ebed Doulos on Tue, 10/26/2010 - 17:58Of late, I have run repeatedly across references to St. Augustine's "City of God". Most recently this has occurred in my study of Politics from a Christian's point of view as in this article:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity_and_politics
Does anyone know if this has been converted for use by e-Sword?
The Scriptures-A Program?
Submitted by andreawayne on Tue, 10/26/2010 - 11:59Hello all,
I was just looking at my Conrol Panel-Add/Remove Programs and "The Scriptures" shows up as a program on the list.
Is this right and why?
If I wanted it gone would I use uninstall?
Thank you, Wayne,
